Puppetry Workshops:

Ever wanted to learn how the Muppets are performed or want to make your Zoom chats more interesting? Then a Wild Puppets Workshop might be for you.

Puppetry Workshops teach participants how to perform a Muppet-Style hand puppet for stage and/or Video (Monitor Puppetry). Learning puppetry skills, students try their hand at improvisation with professional hand puppets such as furry monsters, frogs, rats and other fun creatures. A recording of the monitor puppetry, can be provided after the workshop.

1 Hour Puppetry Workshop Inclusions:Puppetry Workshop

• Introduction / Different types of puppetry.
• A 5 minute puppet show demonstration.
• Show and Tell. How the different puppets work.
• Practical Workshop, teaching; Lip sync, Eye focus, Puppets talking to each other and to humans, Walking and running with the puppets, Arm movements (waving, scratching, covering mouth, high fives, etc.), Emotions/Gestures, Assistant puppetry for right hand of ‘live hands’ puppets, and puppet karaoke.
• Opportunity to perform and demonstrate to the class.
• Practice Puppet Eyes (to take home).
• Time allowance for travel to and from, set-up and pack-down of the props, puppets, sound equipment.

Minimum 5 students. Maximum 30 students.

Price: AU$500.00 for 1 hour workshop plus $8 per student.

2 Hour Puppetry Workshop Inclusions:Monitor Puppetry

• Same as 1 hour workshop
• Introduction to Muppet-style monitor puppetry for film/TV/YouTube.
• Time allowance for travel to and from, set-up and pack-down of the puppet stage, props, puppets, sound equipment and video/monitor equipment.

Minimum 5 students. Maximum 15 students.

Price: AU$750.00 for a 2 hour workshop plus $8 per student.

Shadow Puppet WorkshopShadow Puppet Workshop

(1 hour & 30 min) Inclusions:

•  Introduction to Shadow Puppets.
• 10 minute Shadow Puppet Show.
• How to make a simple shadow puppet.
• Materials for making shadow puppets (Cardboard and sticks)
• 20-30min allowed for attendees to make their own shadow puppet.
• An improv performance, using the newly made puppets, by their makers.
• Time allowance for travel to and from, set-up and pack-down of the shadow theatre, sound equipment and puppet making materials.

Please note: Scissors and Masking tape are required, but not supplied by Wild Puppets. Students keep the shadow puppets they make.

Minimum 5 students. Maximum 50 students.

Price: AU$200.00 for a 1.5 hour workshop plus $8 per student.
